It's a measure of how messed up the law is, that a father feels desparate enough to do
this, but consider the depth of bias present in the system that it seems perfectly normal that a mother should say "that she will allow him contact in the future". It's a throwaway line. She will allow him contact? Who says? Why is it her decision to decide whether or not the father should have contact with his own child? Why do we even begin to think that she might have the right to prevent contact? Imagine, your marriage has failed, your wife left with your kids, you depend on her goodwill to see them, and she's mad at you, so angry, in fact, that she'll happily use the kids to get back at you. What do you do, in a world that lets her get away with it? Is anyone surprised so many fathers just leave? That 40% of fathers lose all contact with their kids within 2 years of a separation?

BBC NEWS | Education | Women cleverer than men, says MP. Well, in his case, perhaps it's true. You'd think that someone might have learned something from such titles as "The Bell Curve", or just some reflection on history. If "in recent years girls have consistently outperformed boys at all levels of the education system" means that girls are smarter than boys, does that mean that in previous years, when boys out performed girls, that boys were smarter than girls? Eh.
